Update for Eastside Camp

As we found out last night the camp actually begins at 6:00 with a guest speaker on the turf at Thomas High School.  Please drop JV Football players off at Thomas by 5:45, we will listen to the guest speaker then walk to Willink for the actual camp.  This means drop off is at Thomas and pick up will be behind Willink around 8:30.  Please let me know if you have any questions regarding this.

Practice Schedule for ALL 9th and 10th grade Football Players

Practice for ALL 9th and 10th grade Football Players will begin Monday August 18th.  From Monday through Friday August 22nd players will need to be in the locker room by 7:30am and will need to be picked up by 3:00pm.  Each day will be broken up into three shorter practices: a special teams practice, an offensive practice, and a defensive practice.  Players should bring water, sports drinks, a healthy snack such as fruits and nuts, a healthy lunch, etc. to have in between practices.

Saturday will be one longer practice; players will be in the locker room by 7:30 and done by 10:30am.  After this first week of practice the coaches will determine which 9th graders will continue practicing with the JV team and which ones will begin practicing with the Modified A team on Monday August 25th.

Again, players cannot miss any practices these first two weeks to be eligible for the scrimmage on Saturday August 30th.  To be eligible a player needs 11 practices prior to the scrimmage and each day can only count as one practice.  This is a New York State rule, not a team rule.

The schedule for the second week of practice will be determined based on Freshmen Orientation and other possible conflicts.

Seasonal Sports Forms

Reminder: Seasonal Sports Forms must be submitted along with an up-to-date physical to the high school on or before Friday August 15th for players to begin practice on Monday August 18th.
Seasonal Sports Forms are located on the window sill outside the Athletic Director's Office at Schroeder and can be turned in with the updated physical to the Athletic Directors Office or to the nurses at Willink August 13th or 14th from 6:00-9:00pm.

 All 9th and 10th football players are expected to begin practice with the JV team on Monday August 18th.  Players need 11 practices prior to the scrimmage on August 30th to be eligible to play in the scrimmage.  Each day counts as 1 practice so any player that misses a day of practice between August 18th and August 30th will not be eligible for the scrimmage.  This is a state rule and we have no way around it.

Eastside Camp this week!

Reminder: The Eastside Football Camp is this Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday night from 5:30 to 8:30.  The JV Camp will be at Willink Middle School and we will meet there at 5:00.  If anyone needs a helmet or shoulder pads please come get them tomorrow at lifting (from 9-11) at Schroeder.  Please make sure you have you registration (on this website), payment, and a mouth guard (we have not have any in yet) when you come to Willink tomorrow night.  Please let me know if you have any questions at 330-9751.

Reminder: TEAM FOOTBALL CAMP IS THIS WEEK!!!

Reminder: the Team Football Camp is this week, Monday, July 28th-Thursday July 31st from 5:30-8pm at Schroeder.  All 9th and 10th grade players are expected to attend.  Based on the number of players at the June mini-camp, we were missing a lot of players tonight and I only heard from two that they would be absent.  This is essentially a week of practice and each night a player misses puts them further behind.

Tuesday please be in the locker room by 5:00 with your registration paperwork (on the website), your payment, and a mouth guard so I can get you shoulder pads before camp starts.

Another reminder: Next week August 4-6 (Monday-Wednesday) at Thomas is the Eastside Camp for Varsity and JV Football Players.  Again, All 9th and 10th grade players are expected to attend.  This will be 11 on 11 scrimmage situations against other teams such as Thomas, Pittsford, East, Eastridge, etc.

JV 7on7 Thursdays at Thomas

Hello, I hope everyone's summer is going well.  I just found out tonight that Thomas and Eastridge will be bringing their JV teams to the 7 on 7/11 on 11 sessions at Thomas each Thursday night at 7pm.  Our Varsity players (along with some JV guys that have been coming to the weight room) participated this past Thursday and Coach Watkins informed me tonight that Thomas has invited Schroeder's JV players to participate each Thursday until practice begins the week of August 18th.

JV players that plan on participating Thursday will need to get shoulder pads either Wednesday or Thursday after lifting.  The plan is to do 11 on 11 if we have enough lineman participate, if not, we will be doing 7 on 7.  This is an excellent opportunity to get some experience running the offense and defense we will play this season and doing it against different opponents.  Please let me know if you have any questions regarding this.

Also, I wanted to remind everyone that our Team Camp runs next Monday July 28th through next Thursday July 31st from 5:30-8pm at Schroeder.  We will not go to Thomas next Thursday night.

11 on 11 at Thomas at 7pm Thursday 7/24

We are on for 11 on 11 at Thomas tomorrow night at 7pm.  You will need to get shoulder pads after weightlifting tomorrow to participate.  If you cannot make it to weightlifting you can meet me in the locker room at Schroeder at 6:30 and I will get you shoulder pads before going to Thomas.  Please do not forget to bring a mouth guard.  My guess is we will be finished by 8:30.  Please let me know if you have any questions.

Also, please do not forget that our team camp runs from next Monday 7/28 to Thursday 7/31 from 5:30-8pm at Schroeder.  All JV and Varsity players are expected to attend.
